Looking for Patient or Carer Partners for Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema) Guidelines

Skills: Consumer Input
2021 Atopic Dermatitis Practice Parameters

The patient partner methodology team with the Evidence in Allergy Group from McMaster University is looking for patient or carer partners for atopic dermatitis (eczema) guidelines. We are working with the Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters (JTFPP) from the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology and American College of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology to update clinical practice guidelines for atopic dermatitis (eczema).

Patients and caregivers' values and experiences are central to patient-centred care, but they have not been included in atopic dermatitis guidelines before. Thus, we are looking to involve a focus group of patients to share their experiences with atopic dermatitis and help shape our guideline recommendations. Further information on the eligibility of patients is described in the attachment.

We are asking Cochrane Task Exchange members if you would happen to know of any patients with atopic dermatitis (eczema) who might be interested in participating. Additionally, any connections to groups focused on patients with skin conditions, especially in racial/ethnic minorities, would be very helpful.

 Thank you very much.

Ideal Applicant

Looking for providers who know of any patients with atopic dermatitis (any age) and/or their carers - who may be interested in participating in the guidelines process. We are looking for representation from skin of color, so any connections to patients of ethnic/racial minorities is greatly appreciated.

All meetings and surveys will be done remotely. Time requirement is about 5-10 hours over the next 2-3 months. There are no qualifications for this task.
