Research Opportunity for a Study on the Management of Complicated Pneumonia in Children

Skills / interests: Risk of Bias assessment, Data extraction, Screening and selecting studies

Researchers from the University of British Columbia and BC Children's Hospital are aiming to rapidly complete an extensive systematic review on the management of parapneumonic effusions and empyemas from pneumonia in children. This would allow the development of guidelines on optimal medical management for this population. The investigative team is looking for help with citation screening at the abstract and full-text levels, as well as PDF retrieval. Depending on the number of citations screened, we are offering reviewers authorship on future manuscripts and abstracts and/or reference letters. Screening can be done any time from now until December 10th, however there will be a weekend from November 13-14th where more immediate help will be available. If you are interested, please check out project details at or email Bryn at
