Have you or a loved one had undergone an appendix removal by keyhole surgery? Your input is needed on a review considering surgical outcomes for two different types of keyhole surgery for appendix removal surgery

Skills / interests: Consumer (public, patient, carer) input

I am looking for a consumer who would be willing to peer review a Cochrane systematic review titled “Single incision versus conventional multi-incision appendicectomy for suspected appendicitis”

Cochrane considers a consumer to be a person with experience of the condition (in this case surgical removal of the appendix), either as a patient or as a carer/family member of a patient. From a consumer perspective, we are interested if the language of the review, especially the language used in the Plain Language Summary, is accessible and if it feels relevant for those experiencing stomach cancer disease, such that it will be helpful to patients and carers with healthcare decision making.

While you are welcome to provide feedback on any aspect of the review, you can focus your attention on the summary sections. Our aim is for this to be a manageable task, that does not overburden consumer reviewers.

Thank you in advance for considering!

Ideal applicant

Anyone with personal experience or experience as a carer/loved one of someone who has had their appendix removed.
