We Need You! Consumer input for a review on quality improvement strategies for diabetes

Skills / interests: Consumer (public, patient, carer) input

Dear all,

I am looking for a consumer who would be willing to provide feedback for a Cochrane review that investigates the effects of quality improvement strategies to improve care for people with diabetes. Quality improvement strategies are used to help healthcare programmes improve care. Common types of quality improvement strategies may be directed at healthcare professionals: audit and feedback, clinician education, clinician reminders, financial incentives; target people living with diabetes: patient education, patient reminders, promotion of self-management; or involve healthcare organisations: case management, team changes, electronic patient registry, facilitated relay of clinical information, continuous quality improvement.

The protocol was published in 2014: https://systematicreviewsjournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/2046-4053-3-88

Cochrane considers a consumer to be a person with experience of the condition [in this case, diabetes], either as a patient or as a carer/family member of a patient.

For consumer peer review, we will ask you to complete a short form with your feedback to ensure this Cochrane review is accessible, relevant and helpful to patients and carers/families with healthcare decision-making. While you are welcome to provide feedback on any aspect of the review, you can focus your attention on the summary sections. Our aim is for this to be a manageable task, that does not overburden consumer reviewers.

Thank you in advance for considering!
