Heart & Circulation

We need your input! Have you looked after a loved one who suffered from stroke?

Skills / interests: Consumer (public, patient, carer) input

Dear all,

I am looking for a consumer who would be willing to provide feedback for a Cochrane protocol that investigates the effects of different transportation strategies for treating people with acute ischemic stroke. Acute ischemic stroke is a medical emergency caused by decreased blood flow to the brain, which results in damage to brain cells. Prompt treatment is crucial. Early action can reduce brain damage and other complications.

Cochrane considers a consumer to be a person with experience of the condition [in this case, acute stroke], either as a patient or as a carer/family member of a patient.

For consumer peer review, we will ask you to complete a short form with your feedback to ensure this Cochrane protocol is accessible, relevant and helpful to patients and carers/families with healthcare decision-making. Cochrane protocols are relatively short articles and you are welcome to comment on any aspects of this protocol. Our aim is for this to be a manageable task, that does not overburden consumer reviewers.

Thank you in advance for considering!
